Goodbye Corpus Christi, TX! Hello (again) Austin, TX!

Goodbye Corpus Christi, TX! Hello (again) Austin, TX!

Not expecting to move to Austin, I find myself in the heart of Texas once again!

In 2019 I moved from Dallas, TX to Corpus Christi, TX and was dead set that it would be my last move—ever! I’d moved not once but four times since having Cancer and I had no plans on ever moving again. Corpus Christi welcomed me with open arms and the ease of living there was fantastic. You can literally get anywhere in Corpus Christi within ten minutes. Also, there’s nothing quite like living by the coast other than it demands you to relax. I was all for this change in scenery but life had other plans.

In the fall of 2020 I hit an unexpected crossroad: move to Austin, TX to keep my insurance or go without healthcare.

I’m sure you’re wondering why the aforementioned happened. As an Ovarian Cancer and Encephalitis survivor I’m prone to illness. Maybe this is because my immune system has been compromised or maybe it’s genetic. We haven’t quite figured it out but what we did know is that in the heat of COVID my insurance providers were adamant about me living within 90 miles of my primary care physician to keep my health coverage in good standing. Therefore, I had no choice but move again to be my medical providers.

Good bye beach living! Hello Texas Hill Country!

Typing this story reads absolutely crazy but it’s the truth. Within two weeks of finding out about my insurance mandates, I’d find a studio in Austin, a job at Louis Vuitton and move. Looking back, I was honestly an Austin girl all along— and will be for life ♥️

To be continued.
